Port of Seattle Airport Access Simulation |
The Port of Seattle (POS) decided to undertake an access and circulation roadway modeling study for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport at the Main Terminal and the Parking Garage.
Transpo created a micro-simulation model and trained POS staff in the use of the model. The model is designed to assist in the evaluation of future planning options. One of the primary and first issues addressed in the modeling was the potential need for drive aisle widening. The modeling was intended to help answer questions related to whether or not to widen the drive aisle, and if so, how, and how operations will be affected during and after construction.
This project is the winner of a silver ACEC Engineering Excellence award. |
