Redondo Heights Park and Ride
|
Transpo was part of the team that designed a major new park-and-ride lot in Federal Way on SR 99 in the vicinity of 272nd Street. To help guide the channelization and signal plans, Transpo carried out operations assessment for estimated future volumes of buses and general traffic. Transpo designed a new traffic signal, illumination, and channelization improvements at the intersection of SR 99 and the Redondo Heights Park-and-Ride.
This project involved the re-channelization of SR 99 along the site frontage, overhead power transmission line concerns, and the inclusion of a driveway access in the signal design as a fourth leg at the intersection. Transpo coordinated with multiple agencies for this project including WSDOT, the City of Federal Way, and King County. Transpo also provided additional services including the design of illumination along the site frontage, re-wiring of an existing WSDOT illumination system on SR 99 to be incorporated into the proposed electrical service cabinet, preparation of a WSDOT design deviation, and construction support services.
