City of Issaquah ITS

Planning, Design, and Implementation

Transpo worked with the City of Issaquah to develop a strategic plan for the application of ITS technologies to the City’s existing signal and communication infrastructure. Transpo designed the ITS system, including implementing signal coordination, upgrading signal system components, installing CCTV cameras and dynamic message signs, a traffic management center and a data management system.

Issaquah ITSThe City of Issaquah officially opened their new Traffic Management Center (TMC) in November 2004.  In addition to the TMC, the project included upgrades to the City’s 50 traffic signals, installation of new CCTV and DMS equipment and the implementation of a central traffic management system.  The center is designed to be practical and usable on a daily basis, and was designed and constructed for under $100,000 due to the use of commercial off-the-shelf hardware and software applications.
